Buffet breakfast was good, but amount of food on the buffet was allowed to run out. No one seemed to be checking and we had to ask for more sausages and bacon to be laid out. By the time they arrived, I had finished eating. Small thing, but important, to me at least.

A very chilled place - just very serene place to go.
A very chilled place - just very serene place to go. It can be a little expensive for the type of food offered in several restaurants - price doesn't really match portion of menu.
The people are friendly, there's a few activities to do if you're adventurous.
It's a great place to stop-over for a couple of nights and then continue with your journey.
The Waterfront is very lovely. I suggest you there.
The Mall is also great for shopping - don't get lost though because there's about 4 mall/square areas.

If you are planning a trip along the garden route then Knysna is a must visit spot. The views across the lagoon and the Knysna Heads are amazing and so many options for accommodation from camping by the lagoon to 5* hotels.
It is also a good base to explore the Eastern end on the garden route right up to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
There is also a number of fantastic mountain passes to drive up to the Karoo, but make sure you have a good vehicle and a good head for heights. Knysna is fantastic and well worth a visit.

As a place to stay, Knysna is rather small, and moreover less secure after dark than other places. Knysna and its islands/view points can e.g. easily be visited from Plettenberg where there is much more choice in terms of restaurants. 1 day is more than enough for Knysna.

The views are magnificent.
The views are magnificent. The surrounding areas are also very worthy of visits. Plettenburg Bay, Tsitsikamma, Sedgefield and Wilderness are excellent. Something great to do every day!
Knysna itself is a little run down and touristy, after all it straddles a motorway (N2), but there are places that are tucked away which are charming.....one goes there however for the views!
This was our first time staying at the Knysna Inn (we got upgraded) and it was the best hotel experience I have ever had. The waterfront is walking distance. We explored quite a bit on foot. Martin the manager was exceptional with his knowledge of the area, giving references of nice places to see to make more memories and he always had time and showed us interesting things by the hotel eg. Animals carved in certain places in the woodwork. We will definitely stay there again when in Knysna. The breakfast was also fantastic!!!!!
Pleasing location in the delightful Belvidere Estate. Quiet, with very little traffic or pollution. Close to the Bell Tavern, Belvidere Manor Hotel, the jetty on the Knysna lagoon and opportunities to wander around Belvidere with it's parkland areas and rich bird life.
The unit was comfortable, spacious, well equipped and even stocked with consumables.
Our host was very accommodating and even provided bird feeders outside the balcony which were restocked every day.
Double Dutch is magic, and the ladies who run it are amazing. A short drive off the main access road to Knysna, the B&B has amazing views of the waterfront and the Knysna Heads. The property itself is beautifully designed and maintained, and the rooms are excellent. Breakfast is prepared by the owners themselves and starting your day watching the scenery is bliss.
Very clean and spacious. Cindy was very welcoming too and prompt to answer all our queries. So many beds to choose from and having access to 3 bathrooms in the house was good for 2 families. It’s just a 5 min drive to the waterfront, the heads and knysna gin/ maillard baking co. The braai was huge and good.
Balcony suites overlooking the stunning lagoon. Friendly staff. On time service. Nice walking distance to a variety of restaurants on the Island. Hotel has its own turbine water club that offers sailing across the lagoon and better rates when compared to the waterfront and other charters.
Hosts Dianne and Rob was very welcoming and made sure that my stay was excellent, they had also send pin locations for activities in and around Knysna to makes sure I do not miss anything. My next holiday will definitely be with them again. Looking forward to my next next stay there.
The location is fantastic! Views of Knysna lagoon and Heads. Staff friendly and cheerful, Cynthia and Babes. Breakfast was so good! Mike the manager is great and we really had a super stay for 4 days and will be back! Had the best sleep on comfy beds and cant complain! 10 out of 10!!!
Nicely furnished bright apartment in a beautiful complex, just a few steps from the Knysna waterfront. Great for self catering in the well equipped kitchen - but also plenty of great restaurants around. We travelled with a baby and received a cot and some toys - really appreciated
A stunning boutique hotel on the edge of Knysna Lagoon with lovely friendly staff.
breakfast was delicious and had a great variety.
Our suite was beautiful and had everything we needed.
We had a picnic on the private boat owned by the hotel - excellent!
Situated right on the waterfront, next to the Knysna waterfront, it has every amenity you will need while on holiday. It is truly a magnificent home. The best part is that the home has an inverter, so we not inconvenienced by loadshedding.
The location on Thesen island is beautiful with great views of the Harbour and headlands. Walking distance to great activities and restaurants in Knysna. Love the decor and boutique style of the reinvented dry dock house.
The perfect location in Knysna. If the view is important for you I strongly recommend this place. The design of the rooms is tasteful. Staff is friendly, helpful, and smiling. Do not hesitate to book this place.
The hotel is located a few minutes away from the knysna waterfront which is very convinient. The hotel and rooms have modern finishes. The staff were very friendly and made our stay comfortable.
N/a The location was beautiful on Leisure Ilse in Knysna looking towards the Heads.
The balconys and eating area were available for use and were lovely.
